NineSmart Modules represents “functionalities”. All our pre-built products and solutions are actually made up by several modules. For example, Smart Access comes from “Access Conrol”, “Display”, and “Report”. In addition to subscribing our pre-built products, clients are also encouraged to mix and match the modules for a customized solution.

IoT (Internet of Things) is a network of interconnected devices that communicate and share data. Its benefits include improved efficiency, automation, real-time monitoring, data-driven insights, and enhanced decision-making across various domains such as healthcare, transportation, and smart homes.

Deploying our IoT products / solutions is never a complicated task. Take Smart Access as an example, we will only need to install an IoT Controller, a power box, and a QR code scanner near doors. Clients are then able to unlock doors using the profile QR code in Smart Access App.

NineSmart product can be deployed in on-premise model, but we strongly encourage our customers to deploy on cloud for better management and security. 

NineSmart is currently using Digital Ocean and AWS as the cloud service provider. We can also deploy resources on a dedicated cloud upon request.

Our product pricing package consists of two components – hardware cost and software license fee. There will be a one-off charge for the hardware. As for the license fee, it will be billed as an annual subscription based on the number of users and the frequency of use.

NineSmart Core (NSC) is the IoT network hub coordinating data flow among system components. It is composed of 2 key components – NineSmart Solution Server (NSS Server) and NineSmart Solution Controller (NSS Controller).

NSS Controller receives requests from IoT devices and automatically synchronizes with the NSS Server to deliver real-time commands to hardware devices. NineSmart currently supports dry contact integration with entrance doors, mailboxes, lockers and lifts.

  • All components, including the admin portal, user App, IoT controller, and third party integrations, are connected to the cloud to provide redundancy and reduce downtime. 
  • NSS server is powered by AWS and leverage EC2 instances to provide secure and scalable compute capacity for all NineSmart solutions
  • NSS server is bound by 99.99% uptime SLA and backed up weekly (Max. 4 backup copies) to prevent unexpected technology-related disasters.
  • All public connections are securely routed through Cloudflare’s robust and reliable network infrastructure
  • IoT controller synchronizes data with the server via WebSocket immediately upon receiving a new update, or regular intervals of 5 minutes for unstable network
  • Encrypted user access tokens are store on the controller therefore access control is still available during network suspension.

  • It supports multiple methods for verifying identity, including QR code, BLE, NFC, and Octopus card
  • It allows for hardware integration via dry contact, standard serial port (RS232, RS485, TTL, etc.) and high level APIs

Network Connection:

  • Connections and API requests are encrypted with standard SSL encryption
  • Web servers, app servers, and certificates support RFC5246 TLS1.2 standard to prevent MITM attack in the network transport layer

Server:

  • Public network services (i.e. HTTPS, WSS, MQTTs) are protected behind Cloudflare firewall
  • Cloudflare provides protection against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks and prevents abnormal access

Application:

  • Support MFA such as password, biometric authentication, authenticator, OTP as an optional security layer in the authentication flow
  • Session Token used for identifying user login session will expire in 7 Days (default)
  • Access Token used for accessing specific resources will expire in 24 Hours (default)

Admin Panel:

  • Support MFA such as password, authenticator, OTP as an optional security layer in the authentication flow
  • Session Token used for providing permission to users will expire in 24 Hours (default)
  • Support IP whitelisting to restrict access only to a predefined list of approved IP addresses
