1. What is Smart Access?
Smart Access is a cloud-based access control system. Unlike traditional access control systems with hardware only, Smart Access is a mobile app with a web-based admin panel that allows system admin to monitor access records through browsers.
2. What are the components of Smart Access system?
Smart Access consists of a mobile app (both iOS & Android version), a web-based admin panel, and a basic set of essential hardware including NineSmart IoT controller, a scanner that can read both QR code and NFC card, and a power box.
3. What are the features and usages of Smart Access app?
Use as staff badge or member card for access
Smart Access app can replace staff badge or member access card, it can be installed on iOS/ Android smartphones. Each user has own refreshable QR code. The code only includes basic info such as name, title, email and phone only. App user can unlock specific doors by presenting their QR code to the scanner.
Door buttons – slide to unlock
Smart Access app has a list of door buttons. Apart from opening doors with QR code, app users can select a specific door on the list and slide the button to unlock that door.
Visitor QR code generator
Smart Access app includes QR code generating feature. Any user with permission can create visitor QR code for temporary use. Users can set access date, time and usage times, then share the QR code to guests via instant messengers (WhatsApp) or email by the share button.
Portable QR code scanner
If your venue is outdoor area like building site or a rented ballroom for event that make installing scanner on wall impossible, Smart Access app has an extra feature – it can open device camera and turn the mobile into a portable QR code scanner. With network available – either SIM or Wifi, access data collected through the app will be synced to admin panel.
4. Can I use Smart Access app instantly after installing on my mobile?
Smart Access app should be used with a basic hardware set – the NineSmart IoT controller and QR code scanner. With these installed, our team will create a company code and user accounts under your organisations for login and use.
5. What are the features and usages of Smart Access admin panel?
Smart Access admin panel can be accessed through modern browsers with a URL link, company code, login name and password. You can access it anywhere with a desktop or mobile device with network. Admin panel includes a dashboard for summary of access statistics of all doors. You can set the app user access permissions, check real-time data, filter by dates and export in excel format for reports.
6. What is the pricing of Smart Access?
Smart Access is available in subscription model to be paid annually. We provides a few plans to cater different scenarios. The pricing depends on no. of Smart Access app users, temporary visitor QR codes to be generated, as well as no. of doors (no. of basic hardware set to be installed). 7. I don’t need all features, can I just select some of them only?
Yes, NineSmart team can turn on or turn off specific features for some users i.e. specific door access permissions for general staff, members, management, security guards or janitors.
8. What is the basic hardware set? Why do I need to install these?
The basic hardware set includes NineSmart IoT controller, QR code/ NFC scanner and power box. NineSmart IoT controller is a circuit board in the power box which connects Smart Access app, scanner, admin panel and electric lock via network, so that users can unlock doors by QR codes or door unlock buttons on the app.
9. Is network needed for using Smart Access?
Yes. We suggest using stable network (LAN) for visitors to open doors with QR code or unlock buttons on Smart Access app smoothly.
10. I am using NFC as access card, can I still use Smart Access?
The scanner we provide can scan both QR codes and common NFC cards. Smart Access actually serves as an add-on feature to your current system that provides you with extra options for access. Please contact us to check and confirm.
11. I have electric locks installed on doors already. Do I need to replace them for using Smart Access?
Basically, Smart Access can be used with most electric locks. Please contact us to double check and confirm.
12. I need a system to take attendance at outdoor area. There is no place for scanner installation, no network and power supply. Can Smart Access help?

13. Do I need to install any software on my computer to use Smart Access admin panel?
No. Smart Access admin panel is a web-based one, you only need to open a browser and sign in for access.
14. Is my data safe with Smart Access?
Smart Access uses end-to-end data encryption between cloud server and local server. General scanner cannot read the data on the QR code, and the code itself bears no sensitive personal information.
15. Can Smart Access be integrated with other systems like HRM?
Yes. Smart Access provides API and allows integrations with 3rd party tools such as HRM, CRM, ERP, booking system and smart lighting system etc. Please contact us and we can provide more advice.

17. What is the warranty terms of Smart Access?
The terms of basic hardware installation, hardware & software maintenance services are listed on the quotation. technine reserves the right to change the payment terms for any order at anytime without prior notice.
